It's people like this that make me angry. The concept of an "elite" hero was flawed when they made it the *only* Ritualist hero. If they had made one of the duplicate heroes "elite" we (most likely) would not have this problem to deal with. I'm sorry that you feel the need to flaunt you e-peen, but the quest is not hard. It's the fact that it required either an ungodly amount of time or an ungodly amount of money. I'm sorry if you feel like farming forever takes skill. It doesn't.

I'm glad about the change. I'm glad peple are getting a set of stones back. I think this is how the quest shoudl have been all along.

Well i think its a great idea, i always thought it unfair that in PvP u just pay a little faction & got Razah just like that but in Pve you had to fight through hell & high water to get the gems to open the gate to him lol.

Nice on Gaile & ANet

Its garbage posted like this that makes me appreciate ANET ever so more. Tell me have you beat Mallyx? I can honestly say I have and have daggers and screens to prove it. That said I still like what ANET is doing.

I can also tell you that Nuking, BIPing, Bonding (14 bonds bonder here), Healing, Spell Breaking Prot, and Tanking is and was not difficult or makes you ELITE at all.

What is and was difficult about obtaining Razah was TIME and TIME alone.

Skill vs. Grind is the model of Guild Wars, Razah became such a grind that many simply could not do it because of TIME. I believe ANET realized this when their own staff could not get him because of the amount of TIME it took to form a party of non leavers, Assign all skills, and responsibilities for each party member, Communication and TIME to do 4 total missions for one HERO with each mission requiring 2.5 - 8 hours at per session became near impossible for the average player. This also does not take into account that if you only had an Assassin Paragon Ritualist, Mesmer or Dervish your odds of getting into a party were significantly reduced to zero in most cases.

NOW take in all factors for TIME for the one Ritualist HERO and pretend you had 10 characters (one of each class) as I do. That is either a ridiculous amount of TME or money for a single HERO henchman.

Yes ANET is doing the right thing and is responding correctly to what players such as myself have been saying for months now.

"MAKE RAZAH REASONABLE" and they did.

Again Thank you ANET...

to MarcinJ13:

I respect your willingness to come forward and your effort in the game to get something most players on these forums have decided to either ignore as being too time consuming and expensive or too hard for its reward. no one can ever take your accomplishment away from you--that you had Razzah before anyone of us, and that you did it the "hard way".

I also understand why you may feel upset or overlooked. Other players feel the same way lots of times. Shucks, the whole HA community feels that way atm, and GvGers to an extent when I talk to them about some things going on. Anet is trying to please lots of different players with a single game and that is very hard to do.

But the devs don't ignore you. I think there are better ways for you to say what you said, and that might have made a stronger case. But many players agreed that having the only rit hench as a PvE elite was overkill.

If I still spent as much time PvEing as I do PvPing, I might have had a fair chance. But all that time in DoA would have just been a boring waste of time for me, and my guild wouldn't have allowed it anyway.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that everyone is in a minority about something in a game this complex. Please try not to be too bitter because, believe it or not, everyone here understands where you're coming from if they think about it.

GGs

PS: to everyone else

MarcinJ13 and others like him have a right to be a little mad too, so don't be too mean to them. They played by the rules, hard as they were, and Anet upped and changed them after the fact. That is a little unfair if you think about it, even if its the lesser of evils.

Really pleased to read this, I've used Razah in pvp but coughing up all that cash for a titan gemstone in pve just didn't appeal to me for a hero I'd like to mess with but who won't necessarily become a permanent part of my team setup.

Great job on listening to the players on this one, much appreciated.

WOW just WOW.... tell me did they (YOUR GUILD) buy you your Guild Wars account? ... Is that how the High End PvP guilds treat their members? WOW... I’m just speechless here...

It never occurred to me that high end PvP guilds would not allow players to PvE and spend time farming Razah for their PvE characters. That may explain why ANET recognizes the TIME issue of getting Razah for PvE characters.

CONSPIRACY THEORY
Perhaps ANET changed their mind because of the IRON CLAD time and game restraints placed upon PVP guild members. Getting Razah for a primary PvP player was too much grind for them so they talked ANET into changing the standard method for getting Razah, and forced them to listen to what us PvE players have been saying from the start? ....

ITS REALY A PVP CONSPIRACY AGAIN TO CONTROL MORE OF PVE!

To MarcinJ13 and others with the same concerns, I sorta know how you guys would feel and it kinda sucks that Razah won't be elite and rare any more but now everyone can get the ONLY (for the moment?) Rit. Hero in the game so far.

As for myself, I'm glad that I'm getting my gems back for Razah, and to A-net, very nice job with this update, well thought out so everyone wins (Except the Gem prices )

Hey, if he wants to imply that people who don't have Razah yet are incompetent at the game, I don't see why it's necessary to be completely nice to him about it.

/sigh. Sad when people use being "mature" as an excuse. It isn't about being mature or immature. Maybe the way he posted was immature, but he isn't immature for disagreeing. It is quite mature to state your argument and there is nothing wrong with disagreeing with people (some of who seem to be brown nosing ). I completely agree with him.

I'm immature because I support Bush, yet many do not? No. I simply don't see it their way, and refuse to follow the crowd like sheep. Same thing with this, I don't support the majority, so I'm immature? No. Don't say someone is immature because they do not see your point of view.

Uh, I was referring to him saying (don't remember his exact post) that all other heroes are free to recruit (as in, cheaper. Which is where my comment came in for FoW being most expensive ), not the fact that he is the only Ritualist hero.

To those that are threatening to uninstall because Anet ignores PvP, why are you still here? I see PvPers threatening to /ragequit yet they are still here (and don't plan on leaving). Uninstall already!

Oh thank God. I've only been playing this game casually for a while now and didn't think I'd ever get this quest done, I don't have the time or money for these darn gems!

Here's the reason why Razah was moved out. Spending hours in DoA leads to delusions where one thinks that Time Played = Skill.

How about they add a new "elite" quest to replace the old Razah quest for those who are complaining that Razah is no longer elite? The quest could take 16 gems and the reward will be a cookie and a bloated sense of pride for your excellence at grinding.

Great news. Till now I just didn't really consider getting Zazah due to the Gem requirement. Excellent changes all round.

I fail to see why a Ritulist hero should be "elite" compared to all the other heros in the game.

Razah was a unique end-game cosmetic hero. His cost around eighty platinum was just insane though. The quest required you to complete six elite quests in order to get Razah, the four basic locations of Domain of Anguish, the Citadel and then the Heart of Abaddon as well. I believe the gemstones should have never have been a requirement to begin with but Heroes are the new weapons/armors in Guild Wars, you have to buy them skills, farm them weapons, Maybe if Razah's quest gave you some platinum as well or something it would be reasonable, the so called "elite" area is an area that requires a sort of "cheating" to beat. Only one kind of team using the exact same skills can beat it. That's not skill that's homework. To be honest, the best idea that can be implemented would be to make gemstones common drops. Then the area will stay elite (for unique weapon drops like every other elite area) and wont be that much of a hassle to get the last hero in the game.

ANet I am sorry, the area and idea was good, but the practice was fowl and sad that left a bitter taste in my mouth and made me curse my work and school as they conflicted. While the area (second to Ninja Gaiden for the xbox) is the hardest damn thing I have ever experienced in gaming.

I could understand the "eliteness" if Razah truly were a variable main profession hero, like they (supposedly) intended at some point. But since he turned out to be a ritualist, the whole requirement and time spent in order to get him has felt totally disproportionate.
